Pilates
We get to know you individually.
Why choose us?
We have a unique approach to Pilates. Our instructor Shirley is experienced in teaching Pilates on the mat, using small props like the Pilates ring, resistance bands or Pilates ball, and using equipment such as the Reformer and the Wunda Chair.
Shirley has the advantage of being able to work closely with our physiotherapists who can offer advice and exercise selection for clients who are recovering from injury, looking for sport-specific strength and conditioning, or post-surgery.
Our main offering for Pilates is the popular 1 on 1 session. We also run two small-group mat Pilates classes per week. These classes have up to 6 people, and are practiced on the mat. We change the exercises each week.
We get to know our clients as individuals and tailor or modify the exercises for you, where possible.
Shirley regularly undertakes further education to increase her knowledge and hone her teaching skills.
What kind of Pilates do we teach?
Our focus is not just on fitness, but empowering you with valuable knowledge about your body and optimal movement. We specialise in helping clients new to Pilates, those recovering from injuries, or have specific goals like improving athletic performance. We believe building a strong foundation is crucial in Pilates. There's no point in progressing if we cannot move correctly first.
We teach you how to properly activate your core muscles first, and keep a neutral spine. We may add props such as balls, rings and bands to help you turn on and off certain muscles or maintain the correct posture. Depending on your needs, we will also start to incorporate the Pilates Reformer and Wunda Chair in our 1 on 1 sessions.
Timetable for Small Group Classes

Private Pilates Classes
Our 45 minute private 1 on 1 sessions can be done at a time that's suited to you. This is ideal if you're recovering from an injury, need sport-specific strengthening, or if you'd like extra individual attention.
