PHYSIOTHERAPY AND THE NDIS
Here at Breathe, our mission is to support people with a disability to move better, build strength, play sports and get around more independently. If you have a disability, physiotherapy can support you to participate in physical activities that you’re interested in, like moving more easily around the home or participating in your dream sport.
Our physiotherapists can help you overcome or manage mobility challenges through a variety of treatment techniques such as joint mobilisation, soft tissue work, western acupuncture, dry needling and myofascial release. The support that we provide is tailored to your goals, personal circumstances and existing support network.
Our passion and special interest is to work closely with amputee clients who are now participating in CrossFit, Para Ice Hockey Queensland, Wheelchair Basketball Queensland and South East Queensland Wheelchair Rugby League.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)
Can I use my NDIS funding for physiotherapy?
You’ll need to be either plan-managed or self-manage your NDIS plan to receive services from us. Choosing the plan or self-management option gives you the freedom to choose your own providers and will enable you to work with us.
Chat to your support coordinator to find out if you can access physiotherapy under Capacity Building or Core supports.
What can I expect during my sessions?
Sessions can be 45 minutes to 1 hour long. When you see us for the first time, we will ask you or your support person questions about your health. We will also find out about your goals.
We then tell you how we can help you achieve your goals. You may want to move better, have better balance, improve your coordination, or do exercises in a safe and supportive environment. We can help you get there.
My disability isn't listed on this page, can you work with me?
Physiotherapists are trained to work with people of all ability levels. We have worked with people who are wheelchair-bound with very little mobility, all the way to lower-limb amputees who play elite sports. We find that at the end of the day, it is our ability to listen, our skills and knowledge, and our caring attitude that matter the most. If you're unsure, just give us a call on 3061 7128.
Can you travel to see me?
Yes we can. But we prefer that you come to us if you are able to - this is because we have a range of equipment at the clinic, and we want you to maximise the usage of your funding. We do charge for travel on a pro rata basis to our usual fee (charged according to the NDIS price guide).
Can you give me a service agreement?
Yes we can. A service agreement is not required for private providers like us. But to help with your budgeting, we can give you a service agreement. Our fees are clearly listed on our website but we will bill according to the NDIS price guide.
Can you provide reports to the NDIS?
Yes we can. Most people need reports from their physiotherapist if they are seeking a plan review. We'd be happy to help. Our NDIS clients and their support coordinators always comment on how detailed and tailored our reports are. We do charge for the reports as a thorough report takes about 4-6 hours to write. You can contact us to find out more.
